Introduce a contribution rather than a complete identity
An introduction can name something you intend to do: help organize the discussion, make an initial sketch or learn how a process works. This is more specific than trying to communicate everything about yourself at once. A first-house Sun reading can examine the relationship between that chosen contribution and the impression you hope to make.
Try writing a two-sentence introduction for a situation you actually expect to enter. Let the first sentence provide relevant context and the second name your purpose. Remove a label that you cannot explain through an action. Notice whether the result leaves other people room to respond instead of treating presence as a performance to perfect.
Agency can include a quiet decision
Being the person who starts something is only one expression of initiative. Choosing a boundary, declining an unsuitable role or returning to an unfinished practice can also express direction. Compare the symbolism with those less visible decisions before assuming that personal ownership requires an audience or an outgoing manner.
Ask what you would still choose if nobody immediately praised it. Then identify one consequence that belongs to you and one that requires another person's agreement. This keeps self-direction connected to responsibility. A chart cannot establish that your preferred approach is right for every setting or excuse ignoring someone else's needs.
A house interval is not the rising degree
The first house and the Ascendant are related but distinct. In whole sign houses, the first starts at the beginning of the rising sign; the exact Ascendant lies within that interval. A Sun anywhere in this house is therefore not automatically conjunct the Ascendant. A proximity claim needs the actual degrees.
Use the house calculator with the recorded time, location and stated system. Keep the Sun's zodiac sign as a separate field: first-house occupancy does not make it an Aries Sun or give it a particular sign dignity. If the birth time is uncertain, compare the plausible interval and retain any unresolved placement.
A CONCRETE EXAMPLE
Synthetic chart example: Sun in the 1st house
Use the invented chart input 2001-02-03 at 06:49 UTC in Greenwich, UK (51.4779° N, 0° E), with the Tropical zodiac and Alcabitius houses. No real person or life story is attached to this example. The coordinates were actually calculated with Skyfield 1.55 and JPL DE440; they are geocentric positions for this specified moment.
The calculation places Sun at 14°30′ Aquarius (314.507174° zodiac longitude) in House 1. Its Alcabitius interval starts at 24°43′ Capricorn (294.711169°) and ends at the House 2 cusp, 4°29′ Pisces (334.481200°). The unrounded longitude lies inside that interval and is 19.796° from the nearer boundary. Rounded display labels do not decide the house.
Keep the same time, coordinates and zodiac, then change only the house system: Whole sign places Sun in House 2; Equal house places it in House 1. The planet's longitude stays the same in all three calculations. This comparison shows why a house number must retain its house-system label. The true Ascendant is 24°43′ Capricorn, and the true Midheaven is 28°01′ Scorpio; those angles remain distinct from a system's numbered cusps.

Must someone with a first-house Sun be an extrovert?
No. Extraversion is not measured by house placement. A person can make deliberate choices privately or prefer a small group. Use actual situations to decide whether the reflective theme is useful.
Does this placement mean the Sun rules my chart?
Not by itself. Traditional rulership of the Ascendant follows its zodiac sign. A first-house occupant and the ruler of the rising sign are different relationships; read both from the calculated chart.
