Give a resource a purpose before making it an identity
A tool, a qualification or a collection can support something you value, but ownership alone does not explain its purpose. Ask what the resource allows you to do and whether you actually use it that way. This makes a second-house reflection about a chosen life rather than a contest over how much someone possesses.
Choose one nonessential resource you maintain. Write the activity it supports, its continuing cost in money or attention, and what would be lost if you stopped maintaining it. Use actual records where possible. The aim is to understand the choice, not to make the chart decide whether you should buy or sell anything.
A change in circumstances need not erase your direction
The same aim may be served by different arrangements. Learning a craft might involve owning equipment, sharing a workspace or borrowing materials. If one arrangement becomes unavailable, the purpose may still be worth pursuing in another form. A resource is part of your circumstances, not a complete statement about who you are.
For a practical exercise, describe an important aim without naming a product, balance or status marker. List two modest ways to support it with what is already available. Then check their real requirements. This separates commitment from attachment to one visible form and keeps practical limitations in the discussion.
Read ownership and house method separately
The second house commonly concerns resources under your own management, while the eighth addresses shared arrangements and obligations. One purchase can raise both questions. Identify the actual ownership and agreement before using either symbolism; a second-house Sun cannot establish another person's entitlement or the value of an asset.
House two is not automatically Taurus, and the Sun is not automatically this house's ruler. Its sign, the relevant house sign and the chosen rulership convention are separate chart details. Calculate using a reliable time and location, keeping the house system attached to the result. Changed boundaries can change the house without moving the Sun.
A CONCRETE EXAMPLE
Synthetic chart example: Sun in the 2nd house
Use the invented chart input 2001-02-03 at 04:15 UTC in Greenwich, UK (51.4779° N, 0° E), with the Tropical zodiac and Alcabitius houses. No real person or life story is attached to this example. The coordinates were actually calculated with Skyfield 1.55 and JPL DE440; they are geocentric positions for this specified moment.
The calculation places Sun at 14°24′ Aquarius (314.398714° zodiac longitude) in House 2. Its Alcabitius interval starts at 24°04′ Capricorn (294.073183°) and ends at the House 3 cusp, 4°43′ Pisces (334.709215°). The unrounded longitude lies inside that interval and is 20.311° from the nearer boundary. Rounded display labels do not decide the house.
Keep the same time, coordinates and zodiac, then change only the house system: Whole sign places Sun in House 3; Equal house places it in House 2. The planet's longitude stays the same in all three calculations. This comparison shows why a house number must retain its house-system label. The true Ascendant is 16°32′ Sagittarius, and the true Midheaven is 18°36′ Libra; those angles remain distinct from a system's numbered cusps.

Does Sun in the second house predict a high income?
No. Income depends on actual work, access, arrangements and circumstances. The placement can organize a reflection about resources, but it cannot supply a financial forecast or establish the safety of an investment.
Is the second house only about money?
Money is one application. Equipment, possessions and other means of support can also provide concrete topics. Modern discussions of self-worth should remain clearly symbolic; personal value is not a balance sheet or a chart score.
