What Pisces describes
Jupiter is Pisces's traditional ruler; Neptune belongs to a different modern scheme. A Pisces Jupiter describes a different chart function from a Pisces Venus or Pisces Rising. No sign alone places a body in the twelfth house or calculates a person's local sky.
In this traditional Western vocabulary, Pisces is mutable water, traditionally ruled by Jupiter. Its opposite sign is Virgo; that names the other end of a zodiac axis, not an enemy or a prediction about relationships. A sign describes a 30° sector. The planet or angle occupying it tells you which chart question you are reading.
Locate the degree before choosing a meaning
Pisces begins at 330° of zodiac longitude and ends just before 360°. Subtract 330° from a tropical longitude in that interval to find its degree within the sign. A sidereal calculation may assign another sign because it uses a different reference origin; keep the zodiac setting with the result.
A Sun sign is the Sun's measured position, a Moon sign is the Moon's measured position, and the rising sign contains the true Ascendant on the local eastern horizon. The Ascendant needs a recorded birth time and place. None of these labels can supply the others, and a sign is not automatically the house with the same number.

At 12:00 UTC on 1986-04-15, the production Skyfield/JPL DE440 historical ephemeris placed Jupiter at 12°19′ Pisces (342.312384° tropical geocentric longitude). Subtracting 330° gives 12.312384° inside Pisces. This position is drawn from the site's independently checked historical placement dataset.
