What this calculator tells you
The Big Three are your Sun sign, Moon sign and rising sign. They come from two planetary positions and one horizon angle. Enter one birth record to calculate all three with the same time zone and zodiac settings, then compare the actual degrees.
Three results from one birth record
Sun and Moon signs locate those bodies along the zodiac. Rising sign locates the Ascendant, the ecliptic’s eastern-horizon intersection. The Ascendant is not a third celestial body. This is why a correct birthplace and time matter especially for the rising result.
Read the three positions as separate measurements. A Capricorn Sun does not imply a Capricorn Moon or Ascendant. Traditional symbolic readings discuss different themes for each, but these calculations do not measure a personality or establish a psychological diagnosis.

Keep the calculation method consistent
All three results use the zodiac chosen under Calculation method. If you choose sidereal, keep the same ayanamsa across comparisons. Mixing a tropical Sun with a sidereal Moon creates a set calculated under different definitions.
The panel includes the Sun and Moon’s house placements as additional context. Those houses use the selected house system. The Rising result remains the actual Ascendant even when the first house begins at a different point under whole sign houses.
A CONCRETE EXAMPLE
Three different signs in the same chart
The preserved Greenwich chart combines Sun 10°22′ Capricorn, Moon 13°19′ Scorpio and Rising 24°16′ Aries. These are three separate calculated positions, not three alternative answers to the same question.
This preserved, fictional example uses 1 January 2000, 12:00 UTC, Greenwich (51.4779° N, 0°), tropical zodiac and Alcabitius houses. Its stored source is Swiss Ephemeris 2.10.03. New calculations use Skyfield + JPL DE440; the historical example is not relabelled as a new calculation.

Can I find all three without a birth time?
A date can often narrow the Sun sign, but it does not establish the Ascendant. The Moon may also change signs during the day. This tool requires a birth time and does not present a noon guess as a confirmed Big Three.
Will the results be saved to an account?
No account is needed. Birth details are sent to the calculation service, and the returned chart is saved in this browser. Signing in is not required for these calculations or browser-local charts.
Calculation & interpretation
New personal calculations use Skyfield with JPL DE440 data and the site’s documented house and zodiac rules. The preserved Greenwich teaching chart has its own historical source label. Worked arithmetic and geometry examples are labelled separately. Astrological meanings are symbolic conventions, not established scientific predictions.
Birth time and place affect angles and houses. Unsupported or ambiguous inputs return an error rather than an invented chart. Personal results stay in browser state and do not create public result URLs.
