Find the term that needs clarification before acting

A shared expense can create friction when contribution, ownership and access have been treated as one question. Separate them. Paying part of a cost does not automatically give unlimited access, and using something does not settle who is responsible for replacing it.

Take a modest hypothetical co-owned item and list who contributes, who decides on upkeep and what happens if it is damaged. Identify the unresolved term before proposing a purchase.
