Your Venus sign is the zodiac sign containing Venus at your birth instant. Calculate its exact placement rather than inferring it from a Sun sign. The result includes the sign, degree, house, direct or retrograde label and calculation source.
A Venus position is not a compatibility score
Astrological traditions connect Venus with attraction, pleasure, aesthetics and relationship preferences. Those are interpretive associations. The measured output here is a longitude and its chart context; it cannot decide whether a relationship will succeed.
This page calculates one natal chart. Comparing two people’s Venus signs informally does not turn it into a synastry engine. It does not combine two birth records, calculate their cross-chart aspects or generate a relationship score.
Read the degree as well as the sign
A sign spans 30°. Two people can have Venus in the same sign while their Venus longitudes are many degrees apart. The exact degree is necessary if you later compare aspect geometry, because aspects depend on angular distance rather than sign names alone.
House placement uses the entered birth time, location and selected house system. If the sign matches another calculator but the house differs, compare house systems and time-zone conversion before concluding that the planetary position is different.
A CONCRETE EXAMPLE
Venus in the fixed Greenwich example
In the preserved example Venus is 1°34′ Sagittarius in House 8, while the Sun is in Capricorn. The Venus result therefore adds a distinct placement rather than repeating the Sun sign. Its stored motion is direct.
This preserved, fictional example uses 1 January 2000, 12:00 UTC, Greenwich (51.4779° N, 0°), tropical zodiac and Alcabitius houses. Its stored source is Swiss Ephemeris 2.10.03. New calculations use Skyfield + JPL DE440; the historical example is not relabelled as a new calculation.

That is an interpretive claim, not a calculated fact. This tool provides your Venus placement and house. It does not identify a partner, predict a relationship outcome or assign compatibility.
Can Venus be retrograde in a natal chart?
Yes. The engine determines motion from the longitude speed at the submitted instant and shows a retrograde label when that speed is negative.

Worked arithmetic and geometry examples are labelled separately. Astrological meanings are symbolic conventions, not established scientific predictions.
Birth time and place affect angles and houses. Unsupported or ambiguous inputs return an error rather than an invented chart. Personal results stay in browser state and do not create public result URLs.
